Leslie Miles
LSU led 24-13 going into the fourth quarter. Taking time off the clock would be any coach’s top priority followed by an insurance score.
Jeremy Hill had 124 yards on just 12 carries for the Tigers going into the fourth quarter and had rushed for two touchdown, but he never touched the ball in the final 15 minutes.
Which explains all the e-mails the last two days wishing Arkansas had hired Les Miles, who was never a candidate but used his friend Jeff Long to get a raise.
That proves Miles knows how to help himself even if he found a way to lose a game in the fourth quarter that should have been a win.
I won’t defend the playcalling and scheme in the bowl game, but unless you were there when Miles and Long conferred, you should stop with your nonsense about what Miles’ intentions were or were not. You’re revealing your bias and stupidity.

You’re obviously an LSU fan that is revealing “bias and stupidity”!
Pork, I don’t pretend otherwise, but I’m not a mindreader or eavesdropper. Wally pretends to be one or both.
I read most sportwriter columns to gain insight to the game. I read yours so I can tell friends “look what the dipstick wrote this time”.
Long was never serious about Miles. Or he shouldn’t have been. Whichever it is or was, I don’t care. Either way, Miles would have been a mistake.
No one but Long knows what his intentions were, but it’s pretty obvious that Miles used his contact to get a better gig… which is human nature.
Les Miles is certainly not a great coach. He is more in the mold of Barry Switzer. Barry didn’t out coach his rivals he just out recruited them. He was a winning coach because he put more talented players on the field. Same with Les Miles.
I won’t paint Miles as the best coach in the country (because he’s not), but yes, he recruits well and is a pretty good motivator. But as I stated elsewhere, you Piggies would defend anyone with an 80% winning percentage and a BCS trophy if you could get them here.
Wally Hall and the rest of the Arkansas faithful are a real class act.
