James Dickey

James Dickey was the first speaker of the season at the Central Arkansas Tip-off Club today and did a great job.
Dickey, a native of Valley Springs, AR., played at Central Arkansas and later was an assistant coach for four years for Eddie Sutton at the University of Arkansas.
A big crowd showed up to hear Dickey talk about the prospects at Houston, where he is now the head coach, and recall some of his days at Arkansas.
One of everyone’s favorites was when he talked about flying into Pine Bluff to play No. 1 North Carolina.
Because of bad weather the Razorbacks landed one hour before tip-off. The roads were so icy most of the fans could not make it to the Pine Bluff Convention Center, and a couple of hours before tip Arkansas Pine Bluff students were told if they would walk to the Convention Center they could get in for free.
The Tar Heels were undefeated and the roster included Sam Perkins, Brad Daughtery, Matt Doherty and a sophomore by the name of Michael Jordan.
It was a great game, and close most of the way. With seconds left Alvin Robertson looked inside to Joe Kleine who, was 10-10 on free throws that day, who was triple teamed, so Robertson found Charles Balentine on the baseline.
Two days before Valentine’s Day, Balentine drained the jumper. Steve Hale tried a long three for North Carolina that barely missed and the Hogs won 65-64.
North Carolina would go on to win the National Championship.

You might be advised to contact the coaching staff at PITT.

Curious why BBielema could not win the BIG ONES at Wisconsin…….ask around. Ask Pitt HCoach, Chryst and most of the staff who abandoned Bielema last year.

Ask yourself why, with Russell Wilson and Montee Ball, he could not defeat OSU…or Oregon.

Ask yourself….So Bielema did not expect, nor do I, that W will defeat Stanford this year in the Rose. That would mean 3 straight Rose Bowl losses for the same coach, a record that would not inspire confidence. SO if BB, when would you leave W for BIG $$$$ ?
Razorbacks were fools. BB laughs all the way to bank.

Sorry for Arky fans. Happy as a Badger in Mt. Home.

Mt. Home also must have had a handful of sour grapes.
