BTW, Is Charlie Strong totally out of the mix? They don’t end their season until tonight’s game vs. Rutgers, but I haven’t heard his name in quite some time. Living in Louisville now, I’ve heard talk on the radio here and they feel hopeful that Charlie will stay, but fearful that a program will lure him away. I think the hope is that now that they’ll be in the ACC he’ll be more likely to stay. Louisville really is a great town.

I would vote for Gus Malzahn. I think we need a coach that truly loves Arkansas. He has SEC experience, proven track record and loves the everything good and not so good about our state and fans.

Of coarse Wally is a racist. He only mentions white candidates. Guess he’s afraid the good old boys will run him out of town if he mentions Charley Strong or another black coach which the Hogs need. Oh that’s right, welcome to Arkansas where it took them forever to hire Mike Anderson.

The fact you haven’t said a word about our Red Wolves getting a in a bowl this year and being listed close to the top 25 shows your ignorance.
Your age is catching up to you and it shows in your work, as does that gobbler hanging lower everyday.

I look forward to the next generation of Democrat sports editor and lets just hope he hates you as much as I do (which Im told from sources that he does).

Keep on dreaming about Gus, it will not happen.

      Jonathan,
Maybe if you actually read the paper instead of whining all the time you would have seen the column on the Red Wolves and their bowl situation last week.

Out of those names mentioned I would take Tuberville. He has coached in the SEC before, and also has added to his recruiting connections, by coaching in the state of Texas. I am not on the Petersen bandwagon at all. He is a long ways from here, which means no connections on recruiting in the south, and to me sure he has done well there, but that’s all to base it on. I do not like the thought of him being our coach. Also, has anyone ever thought of Bob Stoops at Oklahoma, or Mark Richt at Georgia? Just a thought.

I dont subscribe to the Democrat, I hack it online.

You didnt even go to UofA Wally, you piece milled your way through college. Seems like you would show more support to UCA or UALR.

I love the rivalry though and look forward to another column on who the Razorbacks coach will be. Thanks for keeping me on my seat with those.

Keep up the comments and Ill hang up and listen.

You are right Jonathan, I went to UCA for a year, did four years in the Air Force as an air traffic controller, went to work and school after that. Worked my way through college.
Maybe that’s how I learned to respect my elders and people who work hard.

He needs to write about all the rumors surfacing about Gus right now…..Im getting a little nervous and I have been a fan since I was a toddler.

With all the rumors, I truly feel confident that there is actual propaganda happening. What is up, is down.

    Jonathan,
ASU has only been relevant for 2 years now. And as soon as Gus leaves, they will become irrelevant again. Sorry, but that is the truth. They will always play second fiddle in this state and you know it. The Hogs aren’t even going to a bowl this year and will still get more coverage than the ASU and the godaddy bowl.

TCB – I dont know it, or I wouldnt be on here. It is people like me that keep the fight alive.

With the way this state has come along in the last 50 years, its surprising we are where we are. Thank you Dave Wommack for the defensive recruits….and John Thompson for building our D this year.

In fact, if everything keeps happening the way it is, the negative press on Arkansas and us winning a bowl, we will be seeded higher than you going into next year and we will have a repeat of this year.

By all means, keep it up. Your comparing your team to a Sun Belt team AND want to hire our coach. I think we are sitting pretty good. If that means second fiddle, then second fiddle it is.

You probably will be ranked higher than us next year, but we will still continue to get more press. I do not and never said I wanted to hire your coach. Look, you had one good year last year and your coach left. A couple of more good seasons for Gus, and he will be gone too. Your team will always be a stepping stone for coach’s careers. And of course, the Sun Belt is falling apart! Teams are have been leaving the past couple of years. And the teams you are adding, not real good. We could have 3 losing seasons in a row and would still be more relevant that 3 winning seasons for ASU.

Its hard to argue your points, and I agree that Gus will only be temporary. My hope is he sticks for 3-4 years, builds up his resume while putting us a lingering top 25-30 team year after year, then we look up.

They are building a $22 million facility behind him and I think he will stick until it is under construction at least…2014. It is a lot of his contributors that helped put this thing in place. The guys he has brought from UofA, to Tulsa, to Auburn, and now to ASU…..

    I have faith in him.

For the hogs, well…..we all no that story. They aren’t relevant today (unless your Wally Hall), and on Jan 6th, they wont be very relevant.
