John L. needs to stay … for now

Firing John L. Smith is not the answer.

It wasn’t when Jack Crowe was fired after losing to Citadel either. It took six years for the program to recover. It wasn’t until Danny Ford’s fifth recruiting class, the one Houston Nutt went 9-3 with, that the Razorbacks were competitive.

Ford recruited big, strong linemen and good linebackers and defensive backs.

Plus, there were some better than average recruiting classes in Arkansas, and that helped too.

The myriad of problems the Hogs are facing right now have to do with leadership, or a lack thereof, and not matching up personnel wise.

Yes, John L. needs to step up in the leadership department, but he’s not the only one on that sideline who needs to act like their job is on the line.

    Wally,
Anyone who attended the Southern Arkansas University vs Harding football game in El Dorado Saturday afternoon, know that the officials stole the game from SA
    U. Contacting the Great American Conference Office this afternoon, they had “NO COMMENT.” Never seen a team get 50 years of penalities on one drive, and then a no call of offensive pass interference on a tying touchdown for Harding, and then a defensive pass interference at the end of the game (should have been offensive pass interference) setting up Harding for a winning 45 yard field goal.
SHAME ON THE GREAT AMERICAN CONFERENCE
