New basketball facility

Heard a strong rumor the Arkansas Razorbacks will break ground on a basketball facility as soon as the season ends next year.

I admit I’m old school. I’ve always thought home court advantage was not just the crowd but being used to the rims and the floor.

Apparently, though, Jeff Long understands the handicap Mike Anderson is recruiting with by not having a facility.

No firm details but obviously Long knows the importance of appearances in the Southeastern Conference.

Hate to agree with Wally but why would any sane person want to practice where they play? Knowing where floor is dead and relative position of goals has to be an advantage.

The reason you need a practice facility has nothing to do with practicing where you play.  Who doesn’t like to practice where you play? It’s about sharing floor time with the women’s team and games and events like wal-mart shareholders meetings.  The team has no place to practice when the arena is being used.  Maybe we should put some hoops up in the parking lot?  There is a reason nearly every other program in America has one.  Not just because it looks cool.

It’s not that hard to figure out, wally.  Also, the “rumor” you heard has been in every basketball recruiting article over the past few weeks.  All of the recruits are being told this will happen by the staff.  Don’t act like you’ve sniffed out some top secret info.

You really are pathetic and the more I read your stuff the more I realize that you aren’t very smart either.

Oh come on Leroy! I think you have a definite man crush on Wally. Why else would someone who says Wally is “pathetic” keep reading his stuff. You are on here all the time commenting negatively but yet, you keep on reading! Just admit it!

I think Leroy is dead on. Some of you people have been reading Wally for so long that you have no idea what decent journalism looks like any longer. Wally is uninformed, uninteresting and writes like a middle schooler. The only reason most of us read his stuff is because it’s high comedy. Like watching a train wreck.

Glad you Folks think he’s so awesome, but most of the rest of us think he’s an embarrassment to our state.

    Patrick,
You are one sick puppy if you think watching a train wreck is comedy.
It amazes me that all of you Wally haters continue to say how much you dislike him but continue to read him and then use a lame excuse as the one above.
    If I don’ like something, I don’t do it. If I don’t like a certain book, I don’t read it. If I don’t like a certain drink, I don’t drink it. If I don’t like a certain food, I don’t eat it.
    So, don’t read it!

    Rick-
It goes both ways. It’s actually sad that you don’t see the irony in your post. You could stop reading the replies if they bother you. You don’t like people criticizing your beloved wally? Don’t read the responses. The majority think Wally is an embarrassment to our state.

    Patrick,
How about this. You keep writing your critical jr high replies to Wally’s columns and I will keep reading them. And I will get a laugh out of them everytime. And I am sure if you keep writing your critical replies, they will definitely fire Wally. And by the way, the replies don’t bother me. I think they are comical. Oh, and one more thing, can you please give me your statistics in you saying “the majority think Wally is an embarrassment to our state”. What is your basis on “the majority”? Oh, let me guess. It’s from the replies to this blog, right?

Need to hurry up and build that thing, because it’s apparent this team has trouble adjusting to different environments by their road record. Put a rush order in, get those builders from Extreme makeover in, send the team to Disneyland, and when they come back, have it built, and put in on ABC. I’ll probably cry like usual.
