World Series
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a big baseball fan.
I loved it growing up. Played it at Lamar Porter Field for many years, and yes, I had suicides after games and burgers at Glenn’s Drive In a couple of times.
I used to go to Ray Winder on a very regular basis.
Yet, in the last decade or so it seems the game has slowed, or maybe I have, but I have not missed a game of this World Series.
Yes, my wife Rachel insisted, but Sunday night when she was out of town at a meeting I still watched every pitch.
This is a great World Series.
Maybe it is more interesting because for Arkansans it is our own border war, or maybe it is just two evenly matched teams.
I’m not pulling for anyone, although Rachel and Jilly Jolly (Rob’s wife) are definitely for the Rangers.
Many of my co-workers and Shawn Arnell, whom I do a radio show with on the Arkansas Radio Network, are huge Cardinal fans. Our producer Cliff Dykes wears his Cards hat every night. He grew up in St. Louis.
For me, though, this is a win-win.
Great entertainment in a great World Series.
Tomorrow’s column is about conference realignment, which gets stranger by the day as some leagues scramble for members.

I’ve been a Cardinals fan ever since listening on KMOX to ‘Stan the Man’, and “It might be… It could be… Holy Cow… It is… a Home Run!!”
