Wedded bliss

It is true, I was blessed last Friday to marry Rachel Kremer.

After more than nine years of claiming I’d never take the plunge again, I found the one lady who changed my mind and my heart.

Among her many attributes, she is sweet, kind, gorgeous and a great mom. She has a very strong spiritual walk and is a true sports fan.

Robert Lewis did the ceremony and the last thing he asked as we exchanged vows was this: Would I promise to watch more ESPN with Rachel?

In late June I wanted to go out to dinner, she wanted pizza and to watch the South Carolina-Florida game in the College World Series. We had pepperoni.

We have very similar senses of humor so we laugh at each other and together a lot.

It was a simple but beautiful service that was attended only by our daughters, Whitney Homan, Savannah and Maddie Fletcher.

Rachel was my best friend first, and now she’s my wife and I am truly blessed.

Thanks to Rick McFarland, we have pictures. And to Popeye for the video.

Paul Chmura at Hot Springs Property Management found us a beautiful condo for the weekend on the lake. We sat for hours Saturday on the deck planning our future.

A special thanks to Robert Lewis, a true friend, who did Whitney’s ceremony last October and mine last Friday.

I am truly blessed.

Congratulations Wally. Vickie and I are very happy for you and it sounds like you have married the “perfect woman” for all of us sports nuts.
On June 21, Vickie and I celebrated our 31st anniversary and it seems like yesterday. We look forward to meeting Rachel somewhere on the trail.

Just a reader who enjoys your column even when you are dead WRONG. I hope you and Rachel enjoy your marriage as much as Mary Ann and I have ours even after 47 years. Laugh, talk, and respect each other and everything else will pretty well fall in place. Sid

    Hi Wally,
This is Michele Beale (used to be Coffman). So happy for you. It really is wonderful to be with your soul mate so it will probably only get better and better!
By the way, I wanted to tell you about a great event going on down in Hot Springs at the Convention Center (Horner Hall).
Over 600 guests will be at a seated dinner with Coach Gus Malzahn, the featured speaker. It is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, with a golf tournament the next day at Magellan Golf Course in Hot Springs Village. The annual Cliff Harris Dinner/Golf event will also feature former Cowboy Cliff Harris, hometown boy from Hot Springs.
There will be a live and silent auction as well with trips, gifts, and sports memorabilia auctioned off that evening beginning at 6:00. Tickets are $30 each. Call for reservations at 501-318-7740.
We would like to extend an invitation to you and your new bride as well to be our guests. The seated dinner menu promises to be great! My email is mbbeale@suddenlink.net. Let me know if you would like to come and hope you can mention us in your column, which I always read!! Love to see you, Wally!
    Michele
