What a month

When the new year rolled in I was in New Orleans for the BCS Sugar Bowl, came home for a day and headed to the BCS Championship in Phoenix.

A few days after that I followed the Razorbacks to Columbia, S.C. and Gainesville, Fla.

Somewhere in between all that I sold my house to my daughter, bought another one, and with both deals closed, am smack dab in the middle of the updates on my new man cave.

I stressed out Sunday when my appliances were delivered and the refrigerator was bigger than the space for it in my kitchen, which meant spending two hours getting a different refrigerator.

On Saturday I took time out to go and watch the ASU-UALR games and there was a great crowd on hand.

If you haven’t seen the Jack Stephens Center it is a great athletic facility.

Mike Newell, who won many of the banners hanging from the roof, was inducted into the UALR Hall of Fame and he received a loud ovation, and no boos from the ASU folks, which was gracious of them considering the intensity of the games when he coached UALR.

Some friends of mine have a suite at UALR so I was able to keep up with the Arkansas Razorbacks on the television, and it was easily their best performance of the season.

Now we are staring at college football signing day and the Hogs hosting Georgia in basketball.

I have the dishwasher installed and as I’m writing this the old vent-a-hood is coming out and a new microwave is going in. The stove has to have a gas line added and when my plumber does that he’ll hook up the refrigerator.

The floor folks start Wednesday.

And Jimmy Canon is painting every day.

I found a moving company, and now all I have left to do is…well, tons of stuff including towel racks, knobs, handles, light fixtures and finding a sofa, which I don’t have.

I have been borrowing Whitney’s, but I have a feeling when she and Brad move into their new home, my old one, they are going to need it.

Plus the packing, which I’ve been putting off like a death row inmate and is final dinner.

I have thrown out three huge bags of junk.

This has been a heck of a month, but a fun one even though updating a house is a pain in the rear.

What brand of fridge was it. Does it have handles ? Personally, I like the ones with handles.

Wally, if your new house has a front door and a back door, what time do you order a pizza for the game?

What does the old vent-a-hood microwave look like? If still in good condition, I may take a look.

Also, any spare handles, knobs, hinges, do dads, etc.. would be much appreciated as well. Thanks.

Ohio State did the right thing although it came late. But you still have to feel for the players that were clean. Looking forward to your next article.
